11 Best Parking Places In Tampines | Rates, Locations & My Picks

Parking Places In Tampines

When I drive into Tampines, I don’t look for just any car park. Where I park depends on what I’m doing: shopping in Tampines Central, visiting Our Tampines Hub, going to IKEA, running a quick errand at an HDB block, or staying out for dinner and a movie.

That’s why I think it’s more useful to look at Tampines parking by destination rather than hunting for the single cheapest lot. Tampines has mall car parks, a community hub with a free lunchtime window, retail-park car parks with free parking, and HDB car parks spread across every estate, some of them free on Sundays.

Rates vary a lot by time and place, so I’ve put together 11 parking options I’d consider, with current rates, and some rules of thumb for choosing between them.

My 11 Tampines Parking Picks

# Car park Best for Key rate
1 Tampines Mall Tampines Central shopping S$1.35 first hour (weekdays)
2 Tampines 1 Tampines 1 and the MRT S$1.40 first hour
3 Century Square Century Square S$1.35 first hour (weekdays)
4 Our Tampines Hub OTH, hawker centre, library Free weekdays 12pm – 2pm
5 Tampines Plaza 1 & 2 Offices around Tampines Central Evening flat rate
6 IKEA Tampines IKEA Free
7 Giant Tampines Groceries, Tampines Retail Park Reportedly free
8 Courts Tampines Electronics and furniture Reportedly free for shoppers
9 HDB car parks near Tampines Central Short neighbourhood errands S$0.60 per 30 min
10 Tampines North HDB car parks Tampines North estates S$0.60 per 30 min
11 Tampines East HDB car parks Tampines East estates S$0.60 per 30 min

Rates are from 2026 published information and may change. The rate board at the gantry is always the final word.

1. Tampines Mall Car Park

If I’m spending most of my time around Tampines Central, this is one of the first car parks I’d consider. You park inside the mall, right in the middle of the town-centre cluster, and can walk to Century Square and Tampines 1 without moving the car.

Time Rate
Weekdays, 12am – 5:59pm S$1.35 first hour, then S$0.45 per 15 min
Weekdays, 6pm – 11:59pm S$2.65 per entry
Sat, Sun & PH, 3am – 5:59pm S$2.65 first 2 hours, then S$0.45 per 15 min
Sat, Sun & PH, 6pm – 11:59pm S$2.65 per entry
Grace period 10 minutes

Why I’d park here: when my plans centre on Tampines Mall itself, like shopping, a meal or a movie. The weekend rate of S$2.65 for the first two hours is good value for a typical weekend shopping trip. Just note that subsequent charges are per 15 minutes, so long daytime stays add up faster than at some neighbours.

If you’re here to eat, see my Tampines Mall food guide.

2. Tampines 1 Car Park

Tampines 1 sits right beside Tampines MRT, with a basement car park across two levels.

Time Rate
Daily, 6am – 5:59pm S$1.40 first hour, then S$0.95 per 30 min
Evening from 6pm S$2.70 per entry
Grace period 10 minutes
Motorcycles S$1.50 per entry

Two things to know: the car park has a 2m height limit, so check before driving a van or roof-box SUV in. Also, at least one listing says there’s no parking after 10:30pm, so don’t plan to leave your car there overnight.

Why I’d park here: when Tampines 1 is my main destination, or when I’m meeting someone at the MRT.

3. Century Square Car Park

When my plans revolve around Century Square, I’d rather use its own car park than circle around looking for another one. It has two basement levels with roughly 300 lots.

Time Rate
Weekdays, 6am – 5:59pm S$1.35 first hour, then S$0.70 per 30 min
Sat, Sun & PH, 6am – 5:59pm S$1.60 first hour, then S$0.70 per 30 min
Evening, 6pm – 5:59am Around S$2.50 – S$2.60 per entry

Why I’d park here: it’s part of the same central cluster as Tampines Mall and Tampines 1. Its subsequent charges are per 30 minutes rather than per 15, so for a two- or three-hour weekday visit it can work out slightly cheaper than Tampines Mall.

4. Our Tampines Hub Car Park

This is one of the most useful car parks in Tampines if you’re visiting OTH for the hawker centre, the library, the pools or government services.

Time Rate
12am – 5:59pm S$0.02 per minute (S$1.20 per hour)
6pm – 11:59pm S$2.40 per entry
Weekdays, 12pm – 2pm Free (excluding public holidays)
Grace period 10 minutes

The free lunch window is the detail I’d remember. On weekdays from 12pm to 2pm, parking is free, which is perfect for a lunch at the OTH hawker centre. Per-minute charging also means you only pay for the time you actually use, and the S$2.40 evening flat rate is one of the lowest in the town centre.

Getting in: the car park is in the basement, with entrances via Tampines Walk and Tampines Avenues 4 and 5.

5. Tampines Plaza 1 & 2

Tampines Plaza is another option in the Tampines Central area, useful if you’re visiting offices or businesses there rather than the malls.

Time Rate
8am – 5pm S$1.05 per 30 min
5pm – 1am S$2.60 per entry
1am – 8am S$2.10 first 2 hours, then S$1.05 per 30 min

When I’d use it: if I’m visiting a business at Tampines Plaza, if the mall car parks are full, or if I’m staying into the evening and want a flat rate. Its daytime rate is higher than the malls’ first hour, so I wouldn’t choose it for a short daytime mall trip.

6. IKEA Tampines: Free Parking

If someone asks me about free parking in Tampines, IKEA is the first answer. IKEA’s own page says parking is free with no maximum stay, and there are disabled and family-friendly bays near the entrance.

Address: 60 Tampines North Drive 2, Singapore 528764

Good to know:

  • Free parking applies during operating hours. Listings indicate the car park is closed overnight, roughly 11pm to 7am, so don’t leave your car there.
  • EV charging is available at S$0.45/kWh, with eight public charging lots on P1 and six on P2. In 2026, Charge+ also added a large charging cluster across Tampines Retail Park, including IKEA, Giant, Courts and T-Space, with free parking at the charging lots.

My rule: if I’m going to IKEA, I park at IKEA. I wouldn’t use it as a general free car park for unrelated destinations.

7. Giant Tampines

Right next to IKEA in Tampines Retail Park, Giant Hypermarket Tampines is another spot where parking has been reported as free. That’s handy for a big grocery run when you’ll be loading heavy bags into the car.

When I’d use it: for a weekly grocery shop, or when combining Giant with IKEA or Courts in one trip. Check the signage when you enter, since free-parking arrangements at retail car parks can change.

8. Courts Tampines

Also in Tampines Retail Park, Courts Tampines is reported to offer complimentary parking for shoppers. If you’re picking up an appliance or comparing furniture, having your car close by is a real advantage.

Tip: Giant, IKEA and Courts are close together, so for a “big household shopping day” I’d park once and walk between them rather than move the car.

9. HDB Car Parks Near Tampines Central

Sometimes the best parking isn’t attached to a mall at all. If I’m visiting an HDB block, eating at a neighbourhood coffee shop or running a 30-minute errand, I’d use the nearest HDB car park, such as the multi-storey car park at Blk 823A Tampines Street 81, rather than a mall.

Tampines is outside Singapore’s Central Area, so HDB car parks here follow the standard non-Central rate:

HDB rule Detail
Short-term rate S$0.60 per 30 min
Day cap (7am – 10:30pm) S$12
Night cap (10:30pm – 7am) S$5
Whole-day cap S$12
Free Parking Scheme Free 7am – 10:30pm on Sundays and public holidays at most HDB car parks

That Sunday rule is the best-kept parking secret in Tampines. At most HDB car parks, look for the orange sign at the entrance to confirm the car park is under the scheme.

Payment: most HDB car parks use electronic gantries. Where there’s no gantry, pay with the Parking.sg app.

10. Tampines North HDB Car Parks

Tampines North is a growing residential area, so I wouldn’t drive all the way back to Tampines Central just to park. HDB car parks in the area, such as those around Blk 634/629 Tampines North Drive 2 and Blk 609 Tampines North Drive 1, follow the standard S$0.60-per-30-minute rate.

When I’d use them: visiting friends or family in Tampines North, or going to a nearby neighbourhood facility. They’re also close to the IKEA and Tampines Retail Park area.

11. Tampines East HDB Car Parks

In the eastern estates, the same logic applies. There are HDB car parks around Tampines Street 44 and along Tampines Avenues 9 and 10, all on the standard HDB rate, with free parking on Sundays and public holidays at most of them.

My rule: I wouldn’t drive here from Tampines Central just because it’s cheaper. The time spent driving and walking cancels out the saving. Use it when your destination is already in this part of Tampines.

Free Parking in Tampines

Where When it’s free
IKEA Tampines During opening hours, no maximum stay
Giant and Courts Tampines Reportedly free for shoppers (check signage)
Our Tampines Hub Weekdays 12pm – 2pm, excluding public holidays
Most HDB car parks Sundays and public holidays, 7am – 10:30pm
Charge+ EV lots, Tampines Retail Park Parking is free while charging (you pay for electricity)

Always check the current signage before relying on a free-parking window. Car park rules change.

Cheapest Parking by Situation

There isn’t one “cheapest” car park. It depends on how long you stay and when you arrive:

  • Quick weekday lunch at OTH: free between 12pm and 2pm.
  • Sunday errand near an HDB block: free at most HDB car parks.
  • Weekend shopping at Tampines Mall: S$2.65 covers the first two hours.
  • Long evening in Tampines Central: compare the flat rates. OTH is S$2.40, Century Square around S$2.50 to S$2.60, Tampines Plaza S$2.60, Tampines Mall S$2.65 and Tampines 1 S$2.70.
  • A 30-minute errand: the nearest HDB car park, at S$0.60 per 30 minutes.

Evening and Long Stays

If I know I’ll be parked for several hours in the evening, flat per-entry rates matter most. Dinner plus a movie might run three or four hours, and a single S$2.40 to S$2.70 entry charge beats paying by the hour.

For overnight stays, HDB car parks with the Night Parking Scheme cap charges at S$5 from 10:30pm to 7am. Check mall car parks carefully, because some, like Tampines 1, may not allow overnight parking at all.

Parking Near Tampines MRT

The three car parks closest to Tampines MRT are Tampines Mall, Tampines 1 and Century Square. They’re all within a couple of minutes’ walk of each other and the station. For Our Tampines Hub, I’d use its own car park rather than parking at a mall and walking across.

  • Tampines 1: Tampines 1 car park
  • Century Square: Century Square car park
  • Our Tampines Hub: the OTH car park (free at weekday lunchtime)
  • IKEA, Giant or Courts: Tampines Retail Park, all reportedly free
  • An HDB block: the nearest HDB car park (free on Sundays)
  • A long evening in Tampines Central: compare the flat rates first

My Final Take

What I like about parking in Tampines is having real choices. In the town centre, I can pick between three mall car parks and compare their evening rates. At Our Tampines Hub, weekday lunches are free. In Tampines North, IKEA, Giant and Courts make a big shopping trip free to park. And on Sundays, most HDB car parks cost nothing at all.

The biggest lesson is that the cheapest car park isn’t always the most useful one. Decide where you’re going, check the rate for when and how long you’ll stay, and park as close to your destination as you practically can.
